Account Executive

Univision

What was your first position in the Media Industry and what is your current role? My first role in the media industry was as a Network Assistant at Univision in 2003. Fast forward to today, and I’m back at Univision since 2021, now working as an Account Executive. It’s funny how life comes full circle—the universe really does have a sense of humor!

What inspired you to become involved in Alliance for Women in Media?  Over the years, whenever I’ve met someone with raw talent and potential in this business, I’ve always encouraged them to pursue their passion and find their place in media. Joining the Alliance for Women in Media has given me access to an entire organization with the same mission—to support and uplift others in their growth and evolution within the industry. The sense of community, collaboration, and shared commitment to fostering talent is what truly inspired me to become involved.

What advice would you give someone new to our industry?  You don’t need to know exactly what you want to be when you “grow up.” Just start exploring and crossing things off the list. The media industry offers so many exciting areas to dive into, and what you think you’ll love at the beginning might not feel as fulfilling once you’re in the role. That’s okay—it just means it’s time to pivot and try something new. Don’t be afraid to ask for help! There are so many incredible people in this business with diverse perspectives and resources who are willing to share their insights and lend a hand. And above all, never stop learning. The more you grow, adapt, and stay curious, the more fulfilling your career will be.

What personal or professional achievement are you most proud of? One of my proudest achievements is the journey I’ve built throughout my media career. Starting as a Network Assistant at Univision in 2003, I’ve gained experience in a variety of roles, from Vice President of Sales at The Barber Shop Marketing agency to leading advertising and marketing efforts at driversselect, and even rebuilding a $3.5M book of business at KTVT | CBS DFW (twice actually). These roles have allowed me to not only grow my expertise in media and advertising but also develop meaningful relationships and a deep understanding of the industry. Returning to Univision in 2021 as an Account Executive feels like a full-circle moment and speaks to the dedication and resilience I’ve maintained throughout my career. Whether it’s helping clients achieve measurable results, every milestone has been an opportunity to refine my skills and make an impact.
