AWM-DFW offers members a variety of educational, professional development and leadership training opportunities. These programs are designed to assist members looking to connect with other professionals in the media industry, advance in their current position or accelerate their career to the next level
AWM-DFW hosts an annual Student Media Tour each spring where students have the opportunity to visit area busineses who offer internships in the Media field.
Each year, AWM-DFW will award two $5,000 scholarships in the names of Irene Runnels, a distinguished and respected Dallas broadcaster and Paula McStay, a former Fort Worth advertising executive. As part of the Student Media Tour one $2000 Essay scholarship is awarded in the name of Judy Miller, who was an outstanding and treasured advertising executive that served in the DFW Metroplex.
AWM-DFW assists in the founding of collegiate affiliates. UTA has a local organization and AWM-DFW participates in the UTA Communications Day in the Fall.
