Events Overview

The Awards of Excellence Gala is our flagship fundraising event each year. It’s a time where we come together to honor greatness within the Dallas / Ft. Worth media community. Each year one esteemed colleague is honored with a lifetime achievement award- the Silver Award of Excellence. The gala is also where we award two scholarships to deserving North Texas University students.

Battle of the Media Stars- is one of AWM-DFW’s annual signature events. It serves as a fundraiser for our scholarship program as well as a mixer and relationship builder among the media companies and agencies in our DFW media community. Teams from participating companies “battle” each other in adult field day activities with the winning team taking the title and winning a spot on the coveted Golden Shoe Trophy.

The Student Media Tour™ is a curated, behind-the-scenes experience at top media companies across Dallas -Ft. Worth. Each spring, a select group of 100 standout students from universities like Texas A&M, UNT, UTA, Baylor, Texas Tech, OU, SMU, and others hit the road to explore real-world careers, meet industry pros, and get inspired.

Get ready for an evening of fun, prizes, and a little friendly competition at the Alliance for Women in Media DFW’s Bingo Bash! Come for the fun, stay for the laughs, and leave with more than just a full card!

MediaCon is a one-day event where young professionals can jump-start their careers by attending workshops featuring top industry speakers. The workshops cover all facets of the media industry, including but not limited to: TV/RADIO/FILM, VR, Digital, Advertising, PR, Creative, Out of Home, and Marketing.
