Medium Giant is seeking an entry level Account Executive for an Internship opportunity for the North Texas Sales organization. The NTX Sales team prospects all levels of business, from local SMB, Major Retail, Corporate and B2B that are ideal for Dallasnews.com and The Dallas Morning News audiences. As part of this 12-week internship, you will participate in special initiative sales efforts, including learning how to prospect, help coordinate sales leads, as well as learn how to position our owned and operated media solutions to prospects. You will have fun, too!

You are a listener, and you take the time to understand and help prioritize clients’ business needs, spoken and unspoken. You enjoy connecting the dots of clients’ goals to our digital and strategic marketing capabilities. You are also just as excited to maximize existing client partnerships into new and expanded solutions or services. Responsibilities and activities will include the following:

  • Approximately 40% of time will be sales of special initiatives, 30% will be supporting Account Executives with their sales needs, and shadowing them on client calls for real time sales training. You will spend the remaining 30% of your time learning print, digital, and other strategic marketing solutions
  • You are comfortable articulating digital sponsorships and/or marketing solutions to all levels of decision makers: Pres, CEO, CMO and marketing teams, including ad agencies.
  • You hold yourself accountable, are coachable and intentionally show up with ethics and values in tow, including integrity, sense of purpose, customer focus, innovation and teamwork.
  • You collaborate with your colleagues, across all teams (ad ops, subject matter experts, etc) and you inherently believe we lose as a team and win as a team.
  • You will identify and make new contacts (email, phone, Zoom, networking or in person) to introduce Medium Giant’s digital strategy capabilities, paid media and marketing services, including our owned and operated quality audience in The Dallas Morning News and Dallasnews.com.
  • You will work with sales leaders to learn how to share your revenue or business opportunities with accurate forecasting.
  • You are comfortable working in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive, including Sheets, Slides, and Docs.
  • You enjoy interacting with teammates and are willing to hang out in the office 3 days/week to collaborate, have camaraderie, and positively participate in spontaneous team building.

Job Requirements

  • Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field of study.
  • Some knowledge of print or digital media solutions is a plus but not required.
  • Ability and willingness to learn how to prospect, including email, phone calls, and meetings with clients or decision-makers.
  • Effective communication of ambiguous concepts and ideation, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks
  • Ability to think proactively and take initiative
  • Ability to work under time constraints as necessary
  • Ability to apply concepts such as percentages and proportions
  • Ability to demonstrate critical and innovative thinking skills
