Awards of Excellence Voting Procedures
The Dallas Area Alliance for Women in Media wishes to recognize DFW media professionals for their outstanding achievements and service in the previous year, 2019.
AWM GALA Nomination and Voting Process
Nomination:
Each company receives a ballot of pertinent categories (for example, agencies will nominate in their category only).
Each company will nominate one person from within the company for each category (only one name per category).
Round One Vote:
Each company will have a designated list of voters (each Designated Voter must work full-time at the company and must be located in DFW).
- Agencies will have 10 voters per company.
- Rep firms will have 10 voters per firm.
- Radio Station groups and TV stations will have 20 voters each.
- OOH, Print, Digital, and Sports Marketing companies will have 10 voters per firm
Ballots with every single nominee across all categories will be sent to each Designated Voter in DFW.
CPA tabulates the top 5 names in every category.
Round Two (Final) Vote:
The top 5 names in every category will submit essays and will be judged anonymously by media organizations outside DFW (Austin and Houston).
The top 5 names in every category will also appear on a ballot which will be sent to each designated voter from all companies.
Final Determination:
CPA weights judges’ ballot results (60%) and in-market Designated Voters from all companies (40%).
Recipients will be announced at the 37th Annual Awards of Excellence Gala on Thursday, October 8, 2020.

- Television: Traffic - Continuity Management
- National Television/Cable Rep Firm: Account Executive
- National Television/Cable Rep Firm: Team Manager
- Radio: Local Account Executive
- Radio: Local Sales Manager or National Sales Manager
- Radio: Local General Manager or Director of Sales
- Radio: Traffic - Continuity Management
- National Radio: Account Executive
- Digital Media Sales: Account Executive – TV, Radio, Print, Digital Property
- Digital Media Sales: Sales Manager – TV, Radio, Print, Digital Property
- Digital Media: Agency Leadership of Digital Strategy
- Digital Media: Agency Digital Account Manager
- Sports Marketing: Sales
- Sports Marketing: All Other
- Out of Home: Account Executive – Outdoor, Transit and Direct Mail, Experiential
- Out of Home: Sales Manager – Outdoor, Transit and Direct Mail, Experiential
- Print Media: Account Executive – Newspaper, Magazine
- Print Media: Sales Manager – Newspaper, Magazine
- Rising Star (3 years or less in position/industry) – Agency, Television, Radio, Out of Home, Print, Digital
